When the SDMB cut Sekwang off from the rest of Korea, people outside the city—including former residents who happened to be elsewhere—lost their memory of it and their family ties to it, no longer questioning why contact had been severed.

**Go Yeongeun** (Goral) was originally from Sekwang but was in Seoul when the city was sealed, causing her to forget most of her family. After using her Wish Ticket, she found herself back in Sekwang and is now trapped there, though she gained the ability to hear rumors within the city. **Director Ho** specifically recruited Go Yeongeun because of her ties to Sekwang, using her entrapment to force Kim Soleum to enter the city to rescue her.

The city is also referenced through **Sekwang Technical High School**—a student in its uniform appears in the ghost story [Within the Shadow of Darkness], encountered by Kim Soleum, Jang Heowoon, and Kang Yihak inside Death Lane.
